Hi all, my mate has a 57 plate 325d and his spare key battery is dead.
He has been to a car spares and the assistant said he can't change them or he will lose his code.
Is this correct?

There was a post quite a while ago that claimed that taping it to a Braun toothbrush charger could rectify dead batteries in BMW keyfobs. Worth a go.

I think he needs to change the battery, its got very little power but it does work intermittently.
So i told him to use it on a long run if poss, which he says he has but its no better.

Don't they power via the ignition switch when in use. If so, all you need to do is use it in the ignition for a few runs and it'll charge up and be cool cool
