A refugee from the tvr bit, asking a question for my old man. he has a 2.8 z3 and a concourse e30 318 lux.

He worried about brake fluid. Handbooks etc say to replace every 2 years, last service it was not done, so it is nearly 5 years sinece and new barke fluid went in.

Should it be changed urgently or is it actually okay? Put teh poor man's mind at rest someone!!!!

The brakes won't give up just with old fluid. Pretty much all cars with glycol based fluids should have it renewed every 2 years. At five years old just don't expect the fluid to give ultimate performance especially under very hard braking.
