Something a little different, strong money but would be a cracking little car.

It's a nice install and the car is pretty rapid. I guess time will tell regarding the price.

The price is a bit silly, I guess the bloke is trying to recoup some of the outlay.
'Produces 535bhp @ crank (439bhp @ rear wheels)' 96bhp loss??
As the owner of a 200bhp E36 I can imagine there are certain traction issues with 530hp!!

i'm only guessing, but its probably got a t56 box in there. so about 100hp drive train loss is about right.

edit: just read the ad. it does has a t56 so yep 100hp is about right

yes

That's a 14 year old E36, so anyone willing to part with that kind of cash for a 'project car' can access a lot of spectacular gear in that price range!

I was interested in a LS powered MZ3, but the seller wanted (and still wants) what for me is crazy money. Modded cars aren't ever worth the build cost, so why do people think they are?

This m3 was built by me for a very guy who wanted the best of everything he found a mint car in the right colour with the right trim , then brought a brand new engine and gear box, brand new kws , brand new galfer brakes, new wheels and tyres, new everything nothing was used , he had the best guy tune it , it really was built to be the best . It did 174.5 standing mile at thunder road and he can take the kids to school in it . He spent over £26,000 building it which is a lot but when you want something just so it costs, try building one even close gor what he is asking !!(without cutting corners) A ls3 with gearbox is £10,000

While looking at silly money for an old modified 3 series, I was admiring this the other day:

Craig, the quality of kit and work is not the point, it's the sellers perception of value.

I have a modded roadster that cost £33k new in 99, fitted a blower, AP brakes, genuiine Alpina 18" cotton reels, bushes, braces, etc., the car has never wanted for anything. It's mint and has only done 65k miles.

In reality it's a keeper, but I know it's not even worth what I paid for the blower, let alone the £40k+ it has cost.
