Right then, time to show off your E39's!

I'm looking to buy one, and just want to see how various people have theirs!

What gearknob is that bud? Is it standard? Part no.?

I need a new one and much prefer the look of that to my current standard one!!!
It's the smaller, stubby gearshift from the E60, commonly called the 'ZHP' because its also found on the E46 ZHP cars in the USA.

Over four years ago now, the car's been sold for over three, and scrapped a year ago, but it used to look damn good, thank you:

That's gorgeous. Why was it scrapped?

Don't know why ... I do know that it was last spotted on eBay from "a car dealer in Reading" with no MoT and no reserve, sold for £900 and that it's no longer on the road. Possibly it was broken immediately as I saw bits from a similar car with at least a partial plate match for sale on eBay.

However it was worn out when I had it ... seats were the most worn I'd ever seen, it had electronic issues, the suspension was soft and saggy, the body had lots of small blemishes, and no one apart from the BMW main dealer could read its fault codes. I don't know exactly but I'd guesstimate that it had well over 200k miles when I bought it on eBay for £2k.

Sad frown

Still looks bloody good in that picture though.

The best looking E39 if you ask me, the Alpinas. I wish I could afford to run a V8. I'll stick with the 528 for now smile

It does yes, and it's 5 speed.
