Too much oil ?

Three days a go I had my F11 2.0d serviced by a Main dealer under the service package. Today I have a warning light telling my that my car has too much oil, in fact the readout is as high as it can possible show me. Is this likely of caused any serious damage or is it a case of just draining off the excess and everything should be ok ?

Common issue. Electronic read out rings alarm bells if tiny overfill. Only way to be sure is to check dipstick (my 3.0 has one, not sure about 2.0). Dealer should sort out for you either way. Problems can arise from big overfill - foaming from crank leading to poor lubrication and increased pressures - but won't happen with minor overfill.
