Hi there

I would be grateful for any recommendations re some new tyres for my E39.

The car is a '98 528 SE, although the guy who ordered it specced the sports suspension and 17" type 32 wheels. (235's on the front and 255's on the back).

Thanks,

Jon

Bridgestone turanza, great all round tyre, good in the dry and wet, reasonably priced for a premium tyre.
I have had these tyres on a number of cars and would buy them again.
If you need something more sporty, go for something in the Potenza range.

I've just fitted a full set of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asyymetric 2's 235/45/17 to my E39 530d Touring and they are fantastic, wet or dry. I'm really impressed with the improvement, not only to grip but to the ride and the level of feedback.
I found blackcircles.com to be the cheapest place.

Did you try mytyres?

Mytyres or lovetyres are usually the cheapest I've come across.

Just fitted 4 new tyres to my e39 530i Sport in the same sizes.

Went for Falken FK452s from Camskill - £388 ish for all 4, inc delivery. I then used a local place to fit and balance the new tyres whilst disposing of the old ones.

Good tyres, better ride thant the Dunlop SP Sports that were on there before. I had Eagle F1 Asymmetric tyres on my previous car, and they were good, but I'd imagine quite soft for the e39's weight.
