I've just swapped phones from a Nokia to an iPhone and cannot get it to pair with my Z4C.

The manual doesn't seem to make sense: it says the screen will say "ACTIVATE PHONE" but that the ignition must be in position 0.

Surely if you are in position zero, the monitor is off, so it can't say anything!

Can anyone advise?

Thanks.

If it's anything like my 1'er I just did it with the engine running.

Ignition has to be on. If memory serves me correctly, ignition on, press the phone button, then I think you have to search for bluetooth device on the iphone, put in your bluetooth code, jobs a goodun'.

With the key at position 0 press the pairing button for 3 seconds and while still pressing the button, turn the key to position 1. Continue holding the button for a further 3 seconds and then release it. The pairing option will then appear on the screen. Then insert the 4 digit passkey code into your phone when asked (the phone should be in pairing mode) and press whatever option on your phone that allows it to sync. Give it a minute and the phone will link with the car.

Thanks for your input.

Manual was clearly wrong: the screen can't be saying anything if the ignition is off!

Now working!
