E39 Champagne models
Discussion
It's a 530i Sport with standard fit 18 inch Style 37's, communications pack, automatic box and leather centre console with leather door handles. The extra leather is the unique bit as it's rare as hens teeth outside of the M5.
They are all Black with Champagne leather, I think the difference between the I and the II was that the later II's had cream centre console/door handles etc as well.
There is an Aegean Blue edition as well which was available as a 530i or a 530d and was much the same idea but without the extra leather and, obviously, a different colour combo.
Ignore the Avus Blue edition, this was a poverty spec entry Sport available only with the lower power engines.

I had a champagne II a few years back. Champagne I's didn't have the extended leather over the centre console and door handles, nor did they have the maple wood trim. However, they did have electric memory seats.
As the champagne II's were released in 2003 they all had DVD based navigation and bluetooth integrated within the nav system, which is the major bonus. As you say though, only manual seats and not heated which is a bit of a disappointment.
Are they worth the extra? I love the extended leather, but in reality you could pay £400 and get it done by a decent trimmer. I bought one at the time as it was at the right price and love the colour combo, plus the DVD nav and phone on 2003 models is a big benefit.
It's such a nice place to be, much better than my current M3, and I am looking to buy another.

Wood trim never looks that great on an all black interior, blends much better with the cream leather.
Installed M5 Titanium (I think) trim this morning (well the easy door and dash bits) I will do the gear selector bit tomorrow (although its slightly worn so may try and find another one)Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
