Finally bought a 2001 M5 as the family runner today
Only 20k miles, in excellent condition, carbon black with black nappa leather, sat nav v, sunroof, pdc, rear tv etc. Pick it up in a a couple of weeks as it's going for a full BMW warranty extension check-over
Can't wait to start wafting around in comfort!

Welcome to the pack!
Like a 911, the only car I've driven where longer term exposure - rather than yielding gripes and gremlins - consistently reveals greater and more satisfying degrees of exploutability.
I think I comprehend what all the fuss is/was about although be prepared for regular pad changes if the spirit of thrapery, rather than that of waftissimo, is to be your creed of travel...
Btw, a pack of maltesers for the first geezer to get 300 miles from a tank!

Cheers Der
I've hankered after one of these for a while now but such a good deal just can't be allowed to go to waste, so i took the plunge
It was quite a shock slipping into the M5 front armchair after fighting my way out of the slightly harder Noble seats! Didn't really press on but the oodles of torque and v8 rumble hinted at many happy days of blatting to come
I was also surprised at how nimble it felt after a just a few miles, i was expecting it to feel a little "bigger" but it felt no less wieldy than my previous M3.....
Is the stock car fully exploitable or will i be looking at few tweaks, maybe bigger stoppers, to make it the ultimate driving machine? I see that several tuners offer ECU mods for adjusting the rev limiter and adding a few more ponies. Of course there's always a TUBI

Everyday supercar!! I would highly recommend a Tubi exhaust system, around 2k but worth for the sound track

Speak to the guys at www.scuderiasystems.com where you can listen to the system.

I seem to need a login for this site ?
Here is a page with some M5 exhaust clips - www.chrischou.com/gallery.html try "Kelleners exhaust w/ resonators revs" first, it is a small file.
Here is a clip of my car with Kelleners back boxes. You can just hear about hear it over the screaming tyres and engine
