Buying advice 520d se touring

Looking for a new family car and thinking about a new shape 520d tourer with manual box. Dont want a bigger engine as 19 year old son would be driving it sometimes and insurance costs on the bigger ones are too high.

Pleased to hear any comments or opinions as to what they are like to live with, reliability etc. Also, is this the 2litre diesel engine that has had timing chain issues..... What to look out for?

Nice choice but PLEASe opt for the ZF Autobox...it is really sublime, compliments the engine really well and will pay off when reselling!
