Hi guys,

I have a BMW E39 525i and looking at putting winter tyres on it. I have put on a brand new set of summer tyres in April when I brought the car. I have stumbled across this website offering steels and winter tyres mounted and balanced sent to my door.

http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/skw.pl?bestellnum... Being steels their going to look terrible even if I got wheel trims.

so my question is should I consider purchasing from this website or buy a set of genuine used alloys of eBay bearing in mind they are 10 years old now, and fitting winter tyres to them.

I bought two sets genuine 16" Turbine alloys for my E39 before I got 4 that were circular.

I'd go with the steels if I were you!

I just run Vredestein Quatrac 3 all season tyres all year round on my E39 530i. It's no sportscar anyway.

I'd just go with steels for that price with a set of BMW trims it will look smart.

thank you for your comments,

has anyone used them before had any experience with them?

Buy a cheap set of 16 inch wheels from Ebay - they are almost worthless - and then fit some half decent tyres to them. You'll then not end up with a car that looks like it belongs in the ghetto but you'll be able to benefit from whatever it is you want out of winter tyres.
