Hi,

I have an E30 M52 track car. Does anybody know a reliable, reasonably priced specialist in the Swindon/Wiltshire/Cheltenham type area?

I am based near Cirencester and am looking for someone within an hours drive ideally.

I am after a specialist who is used to working on E30 track cars and not just someone to do a stamp in the book for a service.

Thanks in advance.

I know a BMW Dealer Tech who's worked on mine (and done a great job) near Gatwick, but that may be too far. Drop me a note on junglegus@gmail.com if you want details, very happy to vouch for his work.

Fritzbits is a short hop down the M5 - I think that's where I'd be heading.

Thanks Gus, but a bit too far for me.

Fritzbits look like a good outfit. It's about an hour and three quarters from me so not ideal, but they maybe the best option.

Cheers

Seconded Fritzbits or you could try Neil Garner.

I've never known Neil Garner to be a BMW specialist?

I have personal experience of Fritz but not Neil Garner. However Neil Garner seem to be able to turn their hand to anything and I've only heard good things. Think of it as a suggestion rather than a recommendation!

A ittle further south but James Redish at Redish Motorsports in Bristol is my recommendation.

He's very well versed in the older BMW cars and has been doing prep work for things like the Kumho Championship for many years. He supplied many parts and done all sorts of work for me over the last 10 years or so. He's about as friendly, transparent and honets as you can get.

Thanks, I did think of Redish as I know they come highly recommended, but their waiting list (and for good reason I'm sure) is weeks rather than days which is not always ideal when jobs spring up.

Thread bumpage......

Is Keith still at Ultimate cars? I cant find a website for them and my trusty and very much loved E30 320i ( had for almost 20 years), is becoming really sick with water ingress into all areas of carpet, apart from passenger rear. Just to add (if anyone else has had this problem), from the pedals up towards bulkhead the carpets are dry. flat parts of carpet, and also drivers side transmission tunnel are soaked. How can these random areas be so? If it was bulkhead related I would expect from pedals up to be soaked, there are no leaks form around sunroof, the car has some rear window condensation but parcel shelf is dry. Side windows are dry, windscreen condensation but nothing on dash or doorcards and general headlining also dry.

It started in passenger side, then last week noticed a bit of water in drivers footwell, and they are now all totally sodden. The car also has other issues and I would love to get them sorted from someone recommended on here.

I work in South Cerney just down the road so Cirencester would be a perfect place to get this sorted.

Thanks in advance and help me save my car please smile

Your jacking points and floor pans will be rusty and letting water in...

Jacking point on driver side okay, passenger side is bad and that’s the better side!

Have you cleaned out your sunroof drains?

I did the ones at front of Car a few years ago as I was getting an obvious leak and it sorted the problem. I didn’t however know there were drains at back of sunroof. I read that if they are blocked the water leaks down the C pillar and kind of soaks the car from the middle out?

Also, the sunroof handle is broken so I have to open with spanner!!

I know it sounds like I should get rid of it (it’s still low mileage as Speedo hasn’t worked for ten years....) but it’s a love thing I have with the car!

If this chap is still at ultimate cars he will be getting a call tomorrow and I hope I don’t have to go more than a week driving on wet roads.
