I'm not enjoying the Bridgetsone RFT on my X5
Come to think about it I hated them on the E61, so when it comes to changing them I'm thinking one of the following, but any thoughts, experience, opinions on the following:

Toyo Proxes T1 Sport SUV XL
Nokian Z SUV XL
Falken FK 453CC XL
Kumho ECSTA X3 XL
Vredestein Ultrac SUV Sessanta XL
Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 K117A SUV ZR, XL
Uniroyal Rainsport 3 XL, SUV

Will need 275/40/20 upfront
315 35 20 on the rear but am happy with the Dunlops I have on the rear for now

I don't think you'd go far wrong with any of them, they're all decent mid-range tyres.

I haven't used any of them in XL format, mind, nor on a two-tonne SUV.

The same tyre can perform very differently on different cars (even on the same car in different wheel sizes.) For that reason I'd be tempted to also ask in a dedicated X5 owners forum (is there one on PH?)

Had Kumho ecsta on the Passat. Plenty of grip, but they wore out very quickly.

On my old golf gti I had hankook, then falkens , then vreds.

Vreds were the best IMO

All are ok, but of the ones I know the Hankook are the better ones.

Have been using the uniroyals on my saab for over 2 years so have lasted 15-20k miles. Wet grip noticeably better than Toyos which I used to use and they feel perfectly adequate when pushing on. Wife has SUV version of Uniroyals on her Qashqai and they seem fine although I don't drive it much.

I have the Hankook S1 Evo2's on my 330d. A cracking tyre.

Vredestein are great, especially in the wet, Hankook S1 evo2 also good but didn't last very long and quite noisy, Falken are OK when new but turn to putty in a few thousand miles and are down right nasty for the last couple of thousand miles. Uniroyal are also OK but a bit softer edged compared to the others. Kumho, and Nokian I haven't used although Nokian have a good reputation for winter tyres. Used Toyo many years ago, didn't like them much, not very progressive and didn't last long at all.

those are in order of cheapest to most expensive, price difference is £30 range

Nokian maybe the lower price, but they do seem to get good reviews.
I know they are liked for their winter tyres, but it's not uk known really
