I finally recieved a working OBD wifi adapter dongle for my car and bought the BMWhat app from Ivini to check my car. It's £35 but it will do a full diagnostic and allow me to code new functions into the car which is pretty impressive. (I now for example have a digital speedo in the dash smile ).

Unfortunately it also came up with a few error codes. Most were fine. Just a duff bulb which I fixed a short while ago, but I also had error A6D1 which relates to a short circuit in the auxiliary water pump.

A little research tells me this is only used to keep the cabin temperature warm when the engine is off (presumably with the auto start/stop).

Question I'm wondering is if I should change it, or just leave it alone. It doesn't seem to affect anything on the car...and is it expensive to replace?

Did you clear the code and see if it comes back?

Comes back every time. Tried clearing it twice. All the other errors have cleared so it's not an app issue.

The car is a BMW E87 (09/2009).
