We have a 2012 F30 with pro-nav and HK audio, and recently the Bluetooth/USB have just stopped working. There are no blueooth devices available when trying to connect, and nothing happens at all plugging something into the USB.

Have tried resetting the iDrive (hold volumbe button for 30 seconds till it restarts) and also disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. It looks like it's hosed.

Anyone had any similar issues before and know of any fixes / parts to replace please?

(sorry for the duplicate post - I have one in car/electronics as well, but thought this audience might be able help too)

Cheers

Silly question, but are both on the same fuse and has it blown??

Some devices can easily short the USB and blow the fuse.....

I was thinking the same thing actually. Would you know where the fuse for this particular set of functions is? I'm handy with basic electrics, but dont know much about how the F30 works!

The bluetooth and USB/media module are one in the same.

Under the boot floor, lift that up and check the most connector, make sue you can see the red light in the optical cable when you unplug it.

Check fuses, you will have a fuse diagram in the car somewhere and it tells you what all fuses are for.

Probably easier to disconnect the negative battery terminal, leave it 5 mins and reconnect, this will reset everything.

Thank you!

Already tried disconnecting the main battery (in the boot) - leaving for half an hour and reconnecting. Issue's still there.

I will look out for that module this weekend. Thats very helpful.

Incidentally, if the module is faulty, can I replace with another one? or does it require coding etc.

Should just plug in, you code the head unit to tell it there is a a module there.

I would check fuses.

Also the module that gives the usb connection that plugs between that unit and your head unit is under the passenger side carpet, if you pull the carpet back you should be able to see it.
Nothing has been spilt down there?

Did you find out what the issue was? This exact problem just happened to me.

I have the same problem with my 2018 F30.
The Bluetooth and USB have stopped working on and off.
I just had the software updated by BMW - that didn't work.

BMW claims that whey haven't heard of the problem before?!?
