Both connected drive (app) and the RTTI in the car hasn't been working for a while now. I've just phoned BMW and been told 'another two days' before it's expected to be working again.

I find the traffic info and dynamic guidance quite useful - anyone else?

Yes - very. I don't always trust it, but it's often accurate on the main roads.

Is this a nationwide thing? We've a Mini with it as well as BMW and my wife has been saying it's not been good for a while (days)

It's working for me - though I am often finding occasions when it isn't lately.

I have been onto BMW several times and they say the issue is in Germany. They said it is an on going problem. My RTTI is giving outdated info. Also my Satnav is not working correctly ie taking ages to work out destinations, switching itself on and off ie rebooting. I rely heavily on RTTI for work and I have to PAY extra for it......BMW its just not good enough!!!!!

I've only had my car 6 weeks, and for the first two the Online Entertainment didn't work, I called them twice and apparently there was a major issue that was high priority to fix. It eventually came back to life.

Last week the iDrive screen randomly rebooted itself about 6 times over 3 days, but hasn't done so this week.

I've noticed that the RTTI isn't working properly as well, I was sitting in stationary traffic yesterday (where it is always stationary at that time of day) and it was showing as green. I've also noticed it does seem a bit slow to calculate routes.

My last BMW before this was a 2012 model and never had a problem from memory.

If it is a widespread problem they need to sort it out, especially as people repaying for these services.

I do like the new idrive interface though (when it works), much more intuitive than before.

Seems it is widespread. i3 UK forum lots of people complaining about RTTI missing issues and slow responsiveness. Seems BMW have switched over to Tom Tom. RTTI came in for the 61 plate so potentially a lot of vehicles.

RTTI has gone missing on mine and a couple of other friends BMWs at work for periods of several days but not all at the same time. Mine was back last time I checked last week but dont use it every day so might have gone again.

Interesting - mine appears to have been on course in the last few weeks.

Same here. I've been chasing them for weeks. I've been promised call back after call back, but nothing.
The funny thing is that they've charged my card for the renewal.

RTTI, whether it's there or not doesn't really matter as it's garbage and doesn't work that well.

Mine is a 2014 car (NBT).

Some days, the car downloads around 450 traffic events. This causes:

- Several minutes to plan a route.
- Several minutes to access the "Recent destinations" page.
- No GPS/satnav control of the gearbox.
- Occasional "NO SIGNAL" followed by a reboot.
- SLI is intermittent.

Other days, it downloads around 130 events. This causes:

- Everything works.
- Max range of traffic events (and green lines): around 100 miles radius.

A couple of weeks ago, it got stuck (472 events) and just showed the same traffic event data for several days.

To me it looks like BMW are playing with the settings, but sometimes they send too many traffic events which causes the satnav to run out of RAM and grind to a halt as it disk swaps.

True. But if it doesn't work and crashes the satnav, then I lose my predictive down-shifts.

Lol! I'm sure that's mission critical.

The BMW connected drive team still haven't managed to re-add my connected drive services. This has been going on since Feb. I get a couple of emails per week saying they're working on it, but there's a problem in Germany.
The one thing they have managed to do is charge my credit card for the subscription renewal!
I have no faith in there technical ability.

Look on the bright side, at least you’re not wasting more fuel.
