4.4 or 4.8 In a 650 late 2011

Looking at a 650 sept 2011 registered and the main dealer has it on site at 4.8 but the gov site has it as 4.4. I am aware the 4.8 is not a good engine and would only consider this if its a 4.4 - anyone know ?

If it is an E63 (second generation), it is a NA 4.8 V8 with 367 bhp. Production ended in 2010.
If it is an F12 (third generation), it is a twin turbo 4.4 V8 with 408 bhp

Both have their individual problems as regards engines, though not bad engines by any means.

If it is a late 2011 would be an F12 model, unless it is a model that was only registered very late

Thanks Rassi they just came back to me that its a 4.4 TT - never considered them before but great value and in 650i guise its interesting

It is certainly quick, if quite muted, but a great GT in the original sense of that concept.

the e63 engine 4.4 and later 4.8 won engine of the year - just needs a bit of love and fresh valve stem seals once a century ;-)
