A couple times this week I've seen my old car mentioned and it's got me feeling all nostalgic.

Firstly, in this article: http://www.dicklovett.co.uk/bmw/news-events/pickin...

and then on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Be-HMlbhJKP/?taken-by=...

It was the Z4 Coupe.

I should have kept it!

I don't wish I'd kept it, because the world moved on and I needed a different set of vehicle parameters.

I do miss my 545i Touring, for it's ability to balance pootling around town with changing the direction the world turns, while still having a huge boot and massively comfy seats.

I miss my Z4 I sold it last May. I would have been sorting it this next month to get it ready for the Spring, alas the garage is empty.

3.0si similar to mine. I went from the Z4 Coupe to a N18 Mini Cooper S. Different, but missing that something special.

I've had three BMWs and still own one.

TBH I have no regrets over the other two. I sometimes wonder about the E32 730i I had. That was a lovely thing.

My e46 M3, still miss it. Just had a quick internet stalk and it shows MOT expired last August so maybe it's not in great shape frown

I do miss my first E39 530, It was a very handsome car and a beautiful drive.

I looked it up the other day on the MOT checker site and over the years it hasn't been looked after, and it's seems to have been put to rest, as the last MOT was in 2014.

Still looks good.

I remember passing an 8 Series when going to school. It had a badass numberplate and looked something special!

Two that have passed on and are regretted

E30 M3 Evo III - no photos unfortunately, sold as mileage as getting stratospheric
E39 M5 2001 - great car, immaculate, never let me down..

Sigh...

The old family X3 3.0sd, remapped to around 340bhp and 550 lb/ft. It was just fierce, especially in that body style. I remember coming back from the lakes in it, the 4 of us and our old dog, roofbox on, going in to overtake a naff 206, the 206 driver boots it to keep us from overtaking, the X3 just outright outpulled it hard, left him. It was a good car, traded for a 340i Touring.

E36 318is. My first BMW and one of my favourites six more BMWs later. The manual gearbox was spot on and it just felt great to drive - even if it wasn’t particularly fast.

This is not helping. I've debating selling mine a few times and going back to sub £3k car motoring. But the last time I decided that the value skyrocketed. I'm referring to my 944 Turbo. Sold for £6.5k. Even on 200k I think it would have been worth £15k+ given it was basically a rebuilt car and owned by two Porsche specialists (I bought it off a well-known specialist). My friend thinks it would have been worth more as it was in that good condition but I'm aware how numbers dictate values irrelevant of condition.

We were told it was more around 580, never had an issue in the 3, nearly 4 years of having it.

I miss my X5 4.8iS the most, it wasn't that exciting to drive and it always felt heavy, but I absolutely loved the engine and the noise it made. It had a lovely feel good factor about it.

E39 M5 - fastest Boardroom I ever drove. Understated perfection
E36 M3GT - greater than the sun on its parts

Both sorely missed
