2012 320d efficient dynamics tyre pressures
Discussion
Hi
Just after a bit of advise on what tyre pressures to use. So I bought this car last week. It's the efficient dynamics model and has 205/60/16 w rated on 3 wheels and 205/60/16 92v on one although it's still a Bridgestone.
Door pillar states 205/60/16 hms front 2.2bar rear 2.4 bar.
Then states 205/60/16 92v front 2.7 rear 2.9 bar.
Really confused as to what they should be. I did inflate them to the 2.7 and 2.9 which does seem really high and it seemed to make the suspension feel quite hard.
Tyres are Michelin on front and Bridgestone on rear. They are not runflats.
Thanks for your help

Suggest you post a picture of the A pillar “sticker” ; I’m not near my car but only reason I can think for the 2.7 and 2.9 is if denoting the car “fully loaded with passengers”. ??
My X1 is 2.2 and 2.4 in normal usage so if the two options that’s what I would expect for yours too.
Additiomally if your car is anything like my old E46 , it won’t be happy with the tyre mix. So if you can go all Michelin that be good.

H & V (and W) are speed ratings.
https://www.blackcircles.com/general/speedrating
H is approved for running upto/at 130 mph, V is 149mph.
Since these are based on Autobahn possibilities, you should run at the V rated pressures if you’re expecting to maintain consistent 140+ mph speeds. Obviously, this is somewhat unlikely in the UK.
If you’re carrying 4 passengers & luggage, then you’re expected to use the higher pressures to offset the increased weight. If it’s just you, then the lower pressures will be fine.
You can then ‘tweak’ to personal preference up or down a psi or two, depending on how you feel the car best responds to your driving style. Some people like to have a bit of sidewall squidge, to feel the car settle into a corner, some don’t. Lower pressures = more ‘settle’.
2.2bar front, 2.4bar rear is your ‘low’ load starting point. If you’re carrying 50kg of toolkit in the boot, then 2.4f, 2.7r might be better.

Thanks for your help guys. Really appreciate it
Prinny went off on one for no apparent reason. A lot of what he said is irrelevant or just nonsense. What Cuprabob said is relevant and correct but you should bear in mind that many, if not most, manufacturers are specifying tyre pressures that give the best economy and are what the official fuel consumption figures are based on.
Those pressures may well lead to uneven wear and it’s definitely worth trying lower pressures to optimise tyre life.
