Can I have my BMW diamond cut alloys powder coated while on PCP finance? Will BMW have any issues with this when I hand the car back next year?

Thanks

You could buy a second set of wheels and get them recut if you are worried.

However, if you daily the car I'd advise not to get them diamond cut unless you want to be refurbishing them every year for as long as the wheel will allow.

That is what has happened. This is the second refurbishment on all of them. So I want to powder coat them but don’t want the dealer to balk when I return the car.

I’ve seen dealers powder coating them for the same reason.

I suppose the question here is why would you hand it back ? why not part ex it ? then it'll be valued in line with it's condition and you might find you have some equity in it. If not then hand it back conscious of any penalties you may incur due to condition.

I don't think you'd be punished for powder coating your wheels but I haven't heard either way. PCP take into consideration fair wear and tear so depends how bad your alloys are.

We powder coat them for exactly that reason.

Depends on the terms of your agreement. I suspect it will require that the car is returned in factory spec allowing for fair wear and tear.

If you are handing it back it is unlikely to be to a dealer, far more likely that BCA or Manheim fleet will collect it from you. The driver is unlikely to spot the difference. If it then goes off to auction as most do, you are likely to be fine. If it goes back to BMW for remarketing then you can expect a bill.
