PCP VT Question - Tyres
Discussion
Hi All
Looking for a bit of advice, I've searched the forums here and can't seem to get a definitive answer - certainly not recently. Hoping there's someone that can help me from either experience or someone in the know..
I'm planning on voluntarily terminating my 420d XDrive BMW, which I have on PCP. I've phoned BMWFS and I've just about paid the 50% required to cancel the contract under my termination rights. I've changed the tyres from the Bridgestone Potenza run flats to non run flats. When the car is inspected before I hand it back will I be charged for this? There's absolutely nothing in the terms and conditions that state what tyres you need to have on the car for ending the agreement or if you hand it back at the end of the term. The BMW fair wear and tear guide doesn't say anything other than that the tyres need to be in conformance with manufacturers guidelines and in the same EU classes as the manufacturers guidelines. I can't find anything online regarding what the manufacturers guidelines actually are either, there's certainly nothing on the side of the door other than the sizes.
Hope someone can help, cheers
J

Hi,
I think the tyres have to be the same type i.e run flats. All I could find is what you have already described, I checked with BMW and the person mentioned that the recommended tyres would have to be the same make. That said nothing in the contract and BVRLA. I have run flats from 3 diff manufacturers. PCP is ending in May.
Still unclear if budget tyres and multiple tyre brands are acceptable.
