Mods delete if a pearoast please

From e90post.com

It seems Carly is going to be subscription going forward @ £55 per year BUT if you bought it before March 15th for android and March 18th for Apple you get an upgrade for free to the new FULL version.

Seems in app purchases are free as well for anyone that bought before March. Like me.

I bought the adapter before Christmas and was going to buy the app a couple of days ago. I only wanted it to lay around with, certainly not £55pa so not bothering. I can live without it. Anyone want to buy an adapter?

I think the adaptor will work with Torque and a few others and there is a rival which I forget the name of which is apple only.

I checked out what is was called from another BMW forum.

I have not tried it but I have the Carly Adaptor and now bimmercode so will test on the weekend for you.

I'm not sure their business model has been well thought out with this recent change. Carly is the lazy man's INPA and eSys, so what it will do is force more people to use those other applications, and Carly will die a death.

Same thing happened with Carista, that was £15 and is now a subscription model too.

If it was £10 to do what I wanted to do I'd have bought Carly or Bimmercode and coded with the app. It wasn't. It was far more expensive with all these stupid add ons so I just grabbed a cable and e-sys and coded it myself.

It's not hard, just takes a smidge more time than using an app dedicated to the task.

So many people are worried about messing it up when in reality it's not that hard at all.

thanks for that info Allan, I'll look into it but would be interested to hear if you get it to work on another app

I have Bimmercode and was pleased at how easy it was to use, sure it's £25 plus the cost of the wifi adapter but it's worked flawlessly for me.
