Strange Breakage

My E39 530d Touring has just snapped the L/H bracket for the front anti roll bar clean off the subframe. The bracket looks extremely weedy for a car of this size and weight and Aluminium too. Has anybody else had a failure like this?

That bracket is just to locate the ARB & as such takes no stresses at all, so doesn't need to be particularly strong.

Absolutely so, but it is a very thick ARB so it does need to be strong enough to cope with the loads that will generate under roll, mine obviously isn't!
