I recently had the engine in my lovely e46 330ci Msport get into all sorts bother and had to move it on through an honest eBay add for probably little more than spares. Shame because it was mint on the outside and interior.

Given I’m changing jobs and this is my second car/daily I had reason to pick something more practical. I’m really pleased with this thing. Much better than I expected from some of the reviews

The reviews were inmho harsh, my father had one and I drove it a quite a few times.
I think from your pics that's a 20d. Surprising poke, but must feel very different from your E46. I've had several, so know the contrast.

It’s more chuckable than I thought it would be. I even got the back out (unexpectedly) on the A43 in the damp just by overcooking the acceleration out of a roundabout. I actually wish the ride was a bit softer, it’d probably suit my needs for this better. I rode in the back of it today and the ride is a little harsh outside the drivers seat on the terrible roads near our village. I’m going to get rid of the run flats and hopefully that might help.

Fortunately I run a weekend car for the fun trips. It is the 2.0d so the performance isn’t bad. Better torque than the 330ci masks most of the gap.

I mostly miss the noise of the 330 though, I had a lovely rumble that my weekend car, being a turbo, doesn’t have.

I can’t recall what type of tires my father had , but rim size was 17.

His was a 2014 , as passenger and driver I felt something was awry with ride , this was say 12 months into ownership.

He didn’t agree but took it in eventually and there was a fault with a shock absorber.

Think it was seemingly a known problem , and they were out of stock, as they had to send to Germany for them or whatever the fix was.

If normal tires don’t solve it for you, may be worth a check ?

Interesting, I’m not sure it’s that bad but I’ll give it some though. This has the 18s so there’s not a lot of rubber for a big (ish) car on run flats. Hope it’s that because it needs new on the rear anyhow

I’m daily driving a 2017 X1 , that’s a M Sport on 18s with normal tires and it’s very comfortable ; haven’t needed the adaptive suspension.

I’m confident some decent tires will sort yours out.
