BMW 116D ERROR codes advice needed
Discussion
Really struggling with my 2010 e87 116d 1 series . Has 167000 miles on clock just had a full service and from the moment I left garage it was running "lumpy" generally flat ... hesitant on pick up and lack lustre .
Put on diagnoses and came up with dpf 480a and 452a and oil pressure switch 4ca0 . Garage offered to remove dpf inners- which after research I found out was not legal to drive. Needless to say didnt get it done. After looking about the dpf fault can occur if another fault is there and this in turn makes ecu block a regen attempt. Any ideas how to move forward? What the best route before resorting to dpf removal? Could the oil pressure switch be causing the problem ? Thanks in advance

Do mot remove the Dpf. Take it to a knowledgeable BMW specialist. Dpfs on BMWs block up due to another fault, such as a faulty thermostat. Blocked dpfs can be cleaned by a forced regen, if that doesn’t work they can be removed and chemically cleaned.
To simply replace a Dpf without finding out why it’s blocked is a bodge.

If I've understood your post, the car was driving ok before it went in for service.
If this is correct, I'd be looking at exactly what the servicing garage did, with the view to identifying whether this could have given rise to the problems you're now experiencing. However, given that their first suggestion was to "bodge" the DPF, I could understand that your confidence in their abilities is somewhat reduced.
Do you have a long relationship with the garage in question, or was it the first time they've done work for you? (The answer to this could help to decide how to take the problem forward).

I have spent a huge amount of money with them on this car so am decidedly disappointed with them ... I won't be going back and after me raising my voice a little in the garage when i confronted them about doing work that effectively would result in me driving illegally I am guessing they wouldn't want me to be returning ( i was very polite but incredibly to the point ) - thw difficulty is finding an affordable garage to trust ... the car isnt worth much so would to keep the costs as economical as I can ...

Thank you - just need to find an affordable specialist - am glad I didn't just rush in
