Hi all,
Having trouble with my 1 series, turns over but won’t fire, just stopped when driving.
Think the problem is no power to fuel pump in tank. Does the diesel have a fuel relay? If so any one know where it is.? Or is it just the EKPM fuel pump control unit.
Have checked the fuses and they are all ok, just need pointing in right direction.
Cheers Gazph

Hi guys thanks for replying, not checked timing chain, but as no power to fuel pump in tank, suspected it might be this. Will do a check on timing chain once this weather has improved.
Cheers, all info is good to sort the fault out.

Hi alll, checked timing chain all seems ok, noise turning over seems normal just not firing,
Any other ideas beside the fuel ekpm fuel unit, that would not allow fuel pump to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you still getting the eml light turning on and off when you put the ignition in as it should?

Checked stored codes on my gate maxiscan and it says Fuel volume regulator control- open circuit. Is this the the fuel pump control unit.
If anyone has any ideas would be appreciated, thanks to the other members who have got back to me.

Not sure mate hopefully someone will be along who knows more. If you are not getting a eml at all though my bets would be something ecu related

From memory, the fuel pump control module in the boot behind the drivers side trim panel - rear seat down, pull the trim carpet panel off and it's there.
