Considering moving out of our much loved, VERY reliable 6 year old disco into a 540i touring. Used to have a 545i E61 but haven't driven a 5er since then. Some very well priced nearly new cars in the AUC network, one I have my eyes on has everything including sport package. http://www.easternbmw.co.uk/used-cars/?pageLocatio...
Not many reviews on the net, does anyone here have one? Any thoughts? Cheers.

Sure you won’t miss the space and driving position? Discos are comfy old things.

Yes I will. Seats down the disco is basically a transit van so nothing can compete there it's true. That said we very rarely load above the rear headrest. The 3rd row of seats are used very rarely.

Driving position yes - it's very good and comfy. Sure the 5 will be comfy but I do appreciate looking over the car in front most of the time.

Wonder why the previous owner had it for 3 months then swapped into a 640i?

For me it’s one of the most relaxing parts about owning one. You can see further ahead so can avoid panic braking in heavy traffic.
