Hi
I currently have a 2010 BMW 520d (F10). I am thinking about ditching the run flats but if i change to regular tyres do i need to do anything to the TPMS. I.e. will i get warning messages etc. or does the system keep working as per the run flats?

Many thanks

You won't get any warning messages and it works as it should. I swapped to non run flats on a F13 640d.

What tyres did you use instead, how does the car ride now and what do you do for a spare? I ask as I am about to order 2 new rear brick stones for 350 and I’ve noticed that if I chip in another 150 I can get a whole set of non rft’s however I have no clue of what to get.

Thanks in advance !

I put on some Eagle F1 asymmetric 3 tyres and so far the ride is much more comfortable and less crashy, especially as i have 19 inch alloys and a staggered set up.
I also have a compressor and tyre repair kit for emergencies.

I've got some Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy on a 530d e61. Really nice.

I upped the psi by a few from the door card numbers, seems good so far.

I didn't watch this video (just googled), but you can reset the numbers if you wish.

I went for Bridgestones it had Dunlop rft to start with and it improved the ride vastly. I just had a compressor and a can of tyre weld, although I did suffer 3 punctures in quick succession on normal tyres.

I've swapped the car now but if I was to do it again I think I would buy a space saver spare wheel off eBay and keep it in the boot.
