E46 Sport BMW Stereo system causing battery drain
Discussion
We’re after an everyday car after ours failed spectacularly today. I’ve enquired after a cheapish E46 Sport with the standard BMW sound system and AMP fitted. The seller advised me whilst the system works fine, it is however the cause of a battery drain if left for any amount of time. I Just wanted to ask if that sounded plausible for this model of car? Is it a common issue?
It’s a 2000 330i Sport Coupe manual. Pretty clean, zero rust and ~£2k.
Cheers!

I bet the amp has been powered by a permanent live
Amp is standard in e46 coupes / saloons I believe. Also have a sports coupe that has a mysterious battery drain problem. not sure what's causing it though!
Guess also you have to decide if you could live with it if it wasn't easy to fix.
I have an x-reg 330ci sport and it's an absolute hoot, not the same as an E36, but cracking. Never left it more than a week or so between use but no battery issues. Fitted with the factory Harman Kardon system.
