I am about to put my 2007 E92 BMW 335i SE Coupe, which I’ve owned from new, on the market and have a question about the wheels.

About 4 years ago, when the car had about 40k miles on the clock, I decided to replace the factory fitted 19” BMW Star Spoke Style wheels (230 8/9Jx19) with 18” Diamond E104 alloys (black), which currently have relatively new ContiSportContact 5 tyres (approx 3k miles).

I still have the original wheels which were welded a few times (potholes etc - the reason I changed the wheels/run-flat tyres) but still in good condition otherwise. They have tyres on them.

Should I sell the car with the original wheels fitted or stick with the aftermarket Diamond alloys?

Thanks for your help!

When I sold my 335i, i returned to stock 19s. For a1/3 of my ownership I'd run 17s as they gave a better ride / handling balance.
I'd bought these 2nd hand so simply threw them in as part of the sale.

Why did I do this?
All those making enquires wanted the car back on stock wheels. So if the market's the same, that's what your buyers will want smile

Thanks for the advice - I think the same will apply and will return to the stock 19s smile

Good luck with the sale.
If you don’t already use E90postUk see if you can join and stick it on there.
A 1 owner car is impressive.

Lurker alert. Having recently bought your old car, it was sold to me wearing the 17s but with the 19" sport wheels included. It would have been an issue had the sport wheels not been available. smile

Yeah, that would've been pretty mean to hold them back wink

But assuming the 17s are still wearing the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, from a ride / handling perspective that's the better combination inmho.

Did you see the other thread, "E92 Options." I'm pretty sure your new car, what with individual audio, individual piano black trim and individual ruby black has even more options.

I completely agree, I did about 500 miles on the 17s and it rides and, crucially, feels better on them. Just didn't look right though, unfortunately.

I haven't seen it, but will have a look.

Yes. Looks much better on 19s.

17s were initially put on for winter tires , then by the January I’d plans to sell in the foreseeable so the logic was on the tire deal I was offered it’d be much cheaper getting 4 square 17s to use than having to later replace the rear 19s Supersports ,ready for sale , which was likely given the monthly mileage I was anticipating.

I think for the 19s size you should be able to get the newer Pilot Sport 4 S ; I have them on my M3. A lot better for ride and handling than the Supersports they replaced.

BMW dealer told me it’s the highest specced M Sport “Highline” produced.

Thanks! I've joined E90post and will try to sell it there as well when I get my new car in a couple of weeks smile

How aftermarket looking are the new one's?

Id leave them on, and just include the stock rims in the sale.

Me personally if I was after another 335i, I would not want any of the stock rims that came with them, there all made of cheese.

What’s the spec and mileage of your 335, please?

Is it manual or automatic?

I know someone who’s looking for a good SE coupe.

They don't look like stock BMW wheels but are in good condition, better than the stock ones I have at least. I think I'll include both sets in the sale. I completely agree that the stock rims are made of cheese!

It has only 65,000 miles and is automatic. I'm away for the next couple of weeks but will post the advert on my return and message you the details. Thanks.
