Evening PH!
I have previously owned a e39 528i auto so know what I am getting myself into e39 wise.
Never the less, I need a bigger car and fancy another e39.
2 have come up close to me.
A 525i auto with the right options low mileage
And a 540i with the right options 130k.
Both are similar prices but the 525i is enthusiast owned and he knows all about 'sealed for life' boxes and cooling system munching.
The other is at a garage it has service history and receipts but they just sell cars and don't know about models in great details.
I am coming from a turbo hatchback although I have previously owned a e39 528i so know what to expect performance wise.
The ph'er in me says v8 everytime.
If I'm not planning on batting it around everywhere and it is a workhorse for weekends and a few evenings, will the 525i be that much of a slow coach that I will grow to hate it?
The 525i seems like the better option just don't want to turn my nose up at a v8 as I might not get another chance.
Any comments/suggestions/pisstaking appreciated

I've stated this before ... I've 2 e39s, one RB and one R&P. If they were shod the same, I'd have great difficulty telling which was which in a "blind" test.The V8 certainly likes to visit the fuel station more frequently than the diesel, though!
I've a quad exhaust on the petrol. It sounds great.
