Anyone else fed up with the service frequency on the new BMWs? My wife’s X3 has just had the service notification come up for the 4th time and she’s not had it two years! Not only is the cost damn ridiculous but it’s the inconvenience of having to get the car in so often.

We are looking to replace it and after 15 years of having circa a dozen BMWs it’s time we went to another marque!

I think it's arisen since all those things went onto the OBC - you take it for an oil service, then 3 months later it's telling you it needs a brake fluid change. Then a few months on the MOT reminder flashes up and before you know it some brake pads are due for renewal!

I scroll through the service details now and again these days and try to match them up - maybe go a month late for an oil service and have a brake fluid change a month or two early rather than 2 visits!

And now my BMWs are well out of warranty I use an independent BMW specialist who is ex-Sytner anyway and charges about half the main agent labour rate.
