Hi folks,

I quickly viewed a 640d coupe and looks like the rear head restraints are permanently attached. I asked the sales guy who said they don't come out/raise and I didn’t want to start forcing them. BMW technicians told me that my E63 6er ones don't come out and they do so I'm taking the sales guys advise with a pinch of salt.

In the E63 6er the car seats won’t sit properly against the back of the seat with the head restraint in place and looks like the F06/F13 will have a similar issue.

Have any of you F06/F13 guys got kids car seats fitted in the rear? if so, any issues with the rear head restraint?

It may just be me but the space in the back of the coupe looked less than what I have in my older 6 however, it may just be that I’m imagining the kids seats being bigger than they are.

I know the ultimate test is to try my car seats in the back but that wasn’t possible today.

Thanks

An F06 will fit a child seat in, it is tight if you have your seat far back though.

Not sure on the F13 coupe, but they are fairly small back there and there is less wheelbase

Thanks, although I'm 6'1" I do have the seat quite close based on my height. I fitted the two car seats into my E63 630 with adequate room for the kids so I'm hoping it'll be similar size. I am favouring the F06 mind as i think its a nicer looking car. However, finding one in the correct spec is proving tricky so started looking at the F13

A child seat will fit the rear seats of an F06.
The rear seats of an F13 is rather symbolic than functional.

I managed to get a maxi cosi 2 way baby/toddler seat with isofix base in the rear of my F13 640d, it didn't leave much room for the front passenger but it was doable.

I have a 640 d coupe and the rear is "snug" and lifting anything / anybody out of there is going to be difficult . I would have thought a X5 , X3 or Range Rover would be more suitable ?

What specification are you after on the F06?

In regards to lifting in and out, I have had my nieces and nephew in mine without issue. They were 4 at the time though, so I am not sure if they were younger that would be more of a challenge.

The biggest issue for me was the rear door opening on the GC being tight and wiggling the child seat in. But once it it fitted perfectly.
