We’re off to Champagne at the weekend, a trip that we make each year, and we tend to come back with 80 to 100 bottles in the boot of our current model M3.

Normally we can fit it in with no problem but this year we have a baby, which means a travel cot, pushchair, changing mat and so on, so we may struggle.

I’m thinking if hiring a roof box and bars for the baby stuff, does anyone else run a box on a theee series, and can it be fitted without scratching anything?

Is there anything I need to know?

From my experience of loading the roof box onto my touring, just keep reminding yourself where the shark fin aerial is before pushing the box onto the car - I've scratched that several times.

Did it at Easter.
Works a treat and surprisingly minimal impact on MPG.

You shouldn't require that, my 5 & 7 series fit underneath the standard height with a roofbox.

Agree on higher vehicle flag, I got stung £80 at the gate for Brittany Ferry once, e46 with a roof box.
