My M135 is 3 years old on 1st Sept this year, just toying with the idea of extending the warranty for another year for £320 with £250 excess. My car has only 16200miles on it so wouldn't expect any problems with it in the near future with FBMWSH. Peace of mind or waste of money? Never a right or wrong answer I understand but would appreciate some comments/advice from the PH brains.

It's annoyingly frustrating how cheap it is on an M135i.

Take the extended warranty. Do not even think about it.

Mondial warranty with BMW is one of the best out there. I can't believe you are questioning it either! smile

Regardless of the mileage, there are dozens of surprisingly expensive things on the OP's car that could fail any time.

BMW's are clever cars, but they do have problems and the cleverness means that fixing them will not be cheap. For example, I imagine a new engine on an M135 will be a good £20k or so.

£320 is an absolute bargain. I would kill for a warranty at that price. BMW want £1k for a 100k+ mile X5 and Audi want £800 for an A6 3.0T with 80K miles.

At the very least get the driveline warranty. You really don't want to have an engine/gearbox/ecu/etc go pop on a £18k (ish) car.

My 130i was under warranty from 2006 to 2017 with the previous owner. I'd like to thank them very much!

IMO do monthly it stops the price rises and with increasing mileage for those over 60k (I know not necessarily relevant to the OP). Although they can increase the cost monthly once in every 12 months.

I have done a £250 excess on my 640D which is £75 per month comprehensive with all the trimmings of emergency cover etc.

Personally I do not think it is bad considering in my view if something is over £250 then chances are it is something not exactly cheap!

Does annoy me that effectively my 6 is double a 1 though!
