hi my 330d wont start after having a flat battery, tried to jump start it and did not start so got a new battery still wont start?
had my mate put his computer on it came up with these fault codes, 46D1 control unit internal 4, 4b90 rail pressure monitoring on engine start, 4212 glow plug cylinder1 activation, 4222 glow plug cylinder 2 activation, 4232 glow plug cylinder 3 activation!
can anyone help me out here please

Possibly damaged an the ecu when jumpstarting. But with the rail pressure fault maybe worth seeing if it starts up on easy start

I had what I presumed was a flat battery earlier this year, car had been slow to turn over for a week or so then one morning nothing at all.

Popped a fresh battery on, still wouldn't start/turn over.

Took to garage, fault codes were 4212 glow plug cylinder1 activation and 4222 glow plug cylinder 2 activation - bit like yours.

Mine was the starter motor though that seemed to fail at the same time as the dead battery, garage wondered whether the low current on the battery had done something to the starter.

Fault codes cleared, none have come back since.

When I put the ignition I can not hear the pump in the tank coming on? Should it come on?

It should prime the pump as soon as you wake the car up by unlocking it or opening the door- should only run for a little while tho

Check DDE for water ingress.

It could be that the ECU (DDE ) needs re-synchronising with the anti theft immobiliser. ( EWS )

Car starter cranks but won't start. My understanding is that the immobiliser can become locked after a flat battery; the immobiliser doesn't give the 'go ahead' to the fuel pump so there's no fuel pressure.

Couple links about it here http://autolox.co.uk/4a63-bmw-fault-code-ews-tampe...
