Hi,

I'm currently looking at the f10 535d and f30 330d my current budget only allows me to buy something that would be around 80k miles.

At this kind of mileage is there anything I need to look out that should have been done or anything coming up.

Also is this a reasonable mileage, am I likely to start running into any issues above this figure?

Thanks

These are two fairly different cars in terms of size, but similar in performance. I have an F11 535d and really like it, as the roll on shove from 70ish mph on the motorway is a bit silly, and kickdown always puts a smile on my face!
These are relatively complex cars, with the added complexity of the 5 series over the 3, with the five having double wish-bone suspension at the front, and it has more in-common with the 7 series. Stuff like brake discs can be frighteningly expensive on the 535d as these are Brembo discs with an aluminium bell and a cast iron rotor attached with radial pins. Don't expect much change from £400 for an axle set with pads unless you get them for a decent price, and that is without fitting....
These cars are quite option sensitive, I have the pro-nav, advanced bluetooth, HK audio and a few other toys in mine, and the bluetooth audio streaming is ok, but the Harmon Kardon audio is well worth a look!

I tried a 3 series touring and found it to be a bit small for me so I went for the F11 5 series and I love mine.

Unless you're very confident and know your way around these models get a Pre Purchase Inspection done at your cost by a decent Indy, as they will spot problems a mile off.
Do the usual checks like the oil level, coolant and all that jazz, but a proper PPI will include a paint depth test check for accident damage, and get a history check done on any prospective purchase.
