I've had my 535d GT for a few weeks and it has recently developed an iDrive problem in that from start, it does not respond to controller inputs. The scroll up and down function works, but pressing the button will not open any menu items and the shortcut buttons, with the exception of radio don't work either.

Last night, it all came to life 14 minutes after start and worked perfectly and this morning, 8 minutes after start. Interestingly, voice control works fine from the start and will call up any function asked for.

I thought my iPhone bluetooth could be conflicting it but it does the same whether my bluetooth on the phone is off or on.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

thanks

Andy.

never had that problem in over 10 BMWs and I start pressing buttons as soon as I am in the car so within 10 seconds.

The actual controller itself can fail. They are cheap enough for a used one if that’s the problem.

Easy to change to. Officially needs programming to the car. Doesn’t actually.
