M5 F 10 oil consumption

Just had the add oil come up after 2814km since last litre and 10k since both heads changed under warranty. Dealer advises this is within specification of the M engine!

Yes, I do remember mine being very thirsty too on oil. 1 litre every 3 or 4 thousand miles. It’s a nominal cost anyway and the car was under warranty so I couldn’t have cared less.

It varies from car to car mine didn't use any in 30k.

BMW have changed valve stem seals now hoping this will limit the high consumption!

A mate is rebuilding one where the rings are shagged on one cylinder, 50k on the clock or thereabouts.

I have a customer with one of these not used aggressively and get through a fair amount must say that would piss me off TBH
