I have just acquired some 16" streamline alloys the standard OEM fitment for the 320dED model (lowered one etc), they were just too cheap to let go on FleaBay, came with X4 new tyres so thought i would take punt (for winter tyres)

Anyway...would these be perfectly acceptable to run on my 2012 318d ES E91 - I am running 205/55/16 at the moment, they are a 60 profile so this is the only difference...

anyone done this or have any opinions, I personally like this style of alloy...

They will fit - they would only not fit if you had the larger brakes on the higher powered 3 series, but as u already have 16” wheels they will go straight on

Brilliant, cheers for that, the higher 60 ratio sidewall, will probably fill the arch gap a little better aswell I think...

Your speedo and gearing will be a tad out with the deeper sidewalls.

Interesting...I did think this, would I need to declare an increase in tyre wall to insurance? Going from a 55 to a 60? Very minimal....

It probably depends how keen you are to pay more insurance!

You are going from one OEM BMW wheel to another OEM BMW wheel - would anyone other than you ever know the difference?

I bought an E91 in March and it came on winter tyres (handy for the Beast from the East) but it meant in May I was looking for a set of summers.

Found some being sold by an F30 owner who had moved onto 18s, but they had 225/50x17 tyres rather than the 225/45x17 size that E91s had.

But they actually made the speedo more accurate, because most speedos are usually set to over-read anyway. laugh

If you want to see what difference it may make put details into here:- https://www.willtheyfit.com/

Yeah exactly, no-one would even know, especially in this case, if I was going to a bigger wheel originally and bigger tyres then maybe, if it was obvious.

Gives the insurance company something to charge your more for, even if it is only admin an charge.

That's a really good website that, love the illustration it shows you at the end. Cheers for this.
