E91 handbrake light - MOT?
Discussion
My MOT is due end of October and just last week the handbrake light stopped working when you lift the lever. I've looked through the gaiter and can see the thin gauge wire has snapped off the connector on the switch contacts.
The handbrake light cycles through Amber and Red at startup and there is a separate warning for brake fluid, will the light not illuminating when you engage the handbrake fail the MOT?
I've trawled the MOT manual on gov.uk and don't seem to be able to find anything that suggests it would fail but am unsure.
It does seem an easy fix, just solder the wire back in but it's tucked up under the back of the centre console so would require the entire removal of the console. I'll probably do it anyway and am dropping another car for MOT this Friday so will ask the tester but just wondered if anybody knew for definite?
Thanks.
