2007 E70 X5 SE rear bumper
Discussion
Hi all,
Due to the usual hit and run types that inhabit our roads these days I have need of a new rear bumper on my 2007 E70 X5. I did a temporary repair 8 months ago but all the clips were broken and it is now flapping about again so I need a new bumper support and bumper cover. I have sourced the support on Ebay, but all the secondhand bumpers are in a bad way so was looking to buy new.
I see that several manufacturers make pattern part rear bumper covers for anywhere between a third and half the price of a BMW OEM item.... in most ways I'm not tempted as my experience in the past with Honda and Subaru pattern bodywork/trim items has not been great, but was wondering if any of you more knowledgeable than I about BMW X series items had had any success with any of these?
The bumper will be painted to match the existing so it's the fit I am more concerned about as the finish can be improved during the paint process if necessary.
Any ideas?

I'd be more tempted with a bumper from a X5 thats being broken for parts. They would be the best bet and likely in a good condition/would need a respray, which is what you would have to do with a knockoff part anyway. I believed the E70 SE had the plastic bumper that didn't need painting, unless it is one with the dynamic package?

Yeah it did, but I had mine painted. I am struggling to find one from a breaker that is any good, but will keep looking.Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
