Just sold my 520 M Sport. I liked the performance but the reliability was very poor. I was charged £100 to check computer reported faults with the exhaust particulate filter which were then reported as spurious, followed later by £400 to replace the sensors previously reported as OK and then a re-occurence of the faults. Then the local agent can't look at it for 4 weeks because they are fully booked. This all tells me that these cars are highly unreliable .

Not really.. I've got one. I have some 20 quid eBay software which has a mild form of inpa and it does all said codes.. your problem is knowledge and unreliable garages

No; you just need to know the right indy garages and also learn to sort simple issues yourself

There's a wealth of information out there for the 5 series BMW via specific BMW forums, PH, Youtube etc and software can be bought for not a lot of £££ and it's fairly easy to use as well!
