Hi not very sophisticated thread title apologies but the gist of it is this

Just refinanced my 4 year PCP'd 330d over 2 years just had today a 4th service at 74k..I am doing 700/800 miles a week now and may have it for the next 2 years or until Mayor Khan deems my car a London money box ........so is there anything you would do to the car that BMW does not recommend to keep it as good as I can that is mileage based ie gearbox oil change in the sealed for life box at 100k things like that(just a top of the head no expert thought) I will be oil/filter changing between services from now on .

Thanks for any advice

If you doing that type of mileage, you are probably close to 20k between services

I usually do a quick oil change between stealer services - given the oil filter sits on top and you can just suck the oil out through the dipstick, though I jackup the car do it the standard way.

I'm intending on changing the transmission oil at 100k - some have reported it makes the gearbox run smoother

Also intend to get the throttle body/egr valve cleaned - last time this screwed up at 140k mark and was full of crap

Its worth putting archoil in every couple of months or using one of thoses diesel with detergents (Vpower etc) now and again to keep the deposits down on the valves/cylinders.

Leaves and crap usually get stuck under the engine bay, so this get sucked out with a dyson every spring

Also clean out and regrease the bonnet latches once in a while - all my garage serviced load luggers have, at some point, had a bonnet latch problem because of the crap that accumulates

Good advice there - I've had 2 bonnet latches get stuck (one on an E86, the other an E87).

I've also had the transmission oil changed on 2 of mine at around 80/90K miles (both manuals) and the change definitely felt better afterwards.

Agree above. Bonnet cables/latches get stiffer to operate and then may stick. Also get the giubo joint rubbers checked, they may need replacing at 80k miles or so. I am not sure what they use in the window mechanism now, the nylon sliders used to get brittle and break leading to a dropped window. Whether diesel or petrol, Shell V power for me.
