Hi,

For the past week my dash has let me know with the regular beeps and warnings that the battery in one of my key fobs is running low. I've had a quick look at the fob and see no simple way of getting it open, is it a straight forward job?

Thanks in advance!

Shouldnt this charge through being in the car? I dont think you should have to change the batteries? I certainly have not ever done it.

Only ever done it once when I had my 130i with comfort access.

Otherwise if you do not have comfort access maybe the internal battery is faulty.

This is dead easy, it also tells you how to do it in the vehicle owners manual.

Pull the key bit out of the fob, then put the key blade in the rectangular slot opposite the one it came out of. gently lever it up and the central panel of the back of the fob will pop out. put the new battery in, push the cover back on away you go.

Ahhh I did have a poke around with the key part in that rectangular hole but didn't want to force it! I'll give that another go using the Youtube video!!!

Thanks!
