Apple car play - playing up 2018 3 series
Discussion
Got my car in June and paired with iphone 5SE no problem and worked perfectly.
Then after a couple of months with no update from phone, it regularly kicked the phone out and wouldn't reconnect, I had to forgot both devices and add it again. This happened every couple of days, sometimes a few times a day.
I updated the software on the phone, now running version 12.0.
It now stays paired but it regularly freezes when I make calls and is slow and generally glitchy.
The only other thing that has changed is installing Spotify.
It's happening all the time now and I have to take business calls alot, so it's a real pain the ***.
Any suggestions on how to solve?
Thanks in advance,
Cheers,
HBT

The usb/bluetooth firmware updates don’t come down automatically (for reasons I don’t understand - as an IT guy it annoys me how backwards car systems are)
You put your vin in on the bmw update website and can download the file. Being a 2018 car i would assume yours is up to date but it would depend on manufacture date I think the latest firmware version is August 18

Weird, the map updated automatically, so I assumed the software on the car does too. Was reg'd in March 2018, so if the latest is August, needs an update. That's Magic. Thank you, really big help!
