Hi,

Anyone have a phone holder that doesn't block the vents AND keeps the phone at a viewable distance in your eye line?

I use Waze/Google Maps a lot and currently we have a holder that fits in the CD slot but this is way down the dashboard. It was fine for my 1-series but for the X3 it doesn't work.

I was looking at Android screens to replace the business nav that I have but they seem pretty flakey, there's no reviews seemingly on any car they're fitted to and I can see it being more trouble than it's worth.

So back to the phone holders then.. any ideas?

I went for a Brodit mount for my X3.

Thanks, do you have the Right Mount or the one on the vents? I'm looking at the one for the windscreen pillar and although the instructions state that the pillar isn't damaged when you attach it I can't find any reviews..

So I ordered the 'right mount' that clips onto the windscreen pillar. I returned it after 1 day. Basically the mount only fits at quite a high point on the pillar robbing me of some visibility which was a deal breaker for me. Almost as bad was that the phone holder width is fixed so my wife's phone won't fit despite being close in size. It was exact or nothing. I chose nothing and was kindly given a refund. Still on the the lookout for a phone mount that doesn't block a vent or the windscreen but is higher up that the cd mount on an F25 X3. Am considering an Android tablet replacement for the idrive display as the nuclear option but that looks like a minefield...

Sorry must have missed this and didn't reply. I went for the centre mount and it does cover either the LHS or RHS centre vent depending on where you mount it.
