BMW Connected Drive and iphone connection Problem!

I have a 640i. The connected drive runs out next week, does this stuff do much for anyone. I haven't used it in 3 years in BMW's - What am I missing out on??

Also, I have an iphone connected by bluetooth but when I get an incoming call I press answer and it takes 5-7 seconds to connect to the caller, I am not sure what its doing their end but it seems a long time.

On my previous 3 BMW's it was instant.

Any ideas?

Depends what features you use. Map updates and rtti might be useful, for others the music service is useful.

You can download updates from BMW’s website to ensure the car is compatible with newer devices. Takes about 5 mins to install. I’d try that first as could be a firmware bug with your device

Thanks I didn't know the rtti was part of it so may be worth it.

I have tried the update with a USB but it failed. Not sure if it means I have a later update or not so am not sure.

I am however getting a new iphone XS on Friday so will see if that phone does the same issue before taking it in.

When you log into your "BMW online " account you will see that rtti is available as a separate component , renewing that on its own will have the effect that the news / weather and other bits of info will be no longer available but if you have never used them ? ---- PS what is a iPhone LOL
