F22 218d and 220d coupe

Thinking quite strongly about getting an F22 218d or 220d for my next car when I change jobs in March. Commute will be all dual carriageways and motorway and be about 13k miles per year. I think I want a 2015-2016 car, and want to buy BMW approved used for peace of mind. I'll most likely go for M Sport spec with relatively few options, just Cruise Control, Heated Seats, Park Sensors and with Cloth Seats rather than Dakota Leather.

Any issues or advice on the above? I take it they're generally reliable cars and having the B47 engine should mean the likelihood of a timing chain grenade are quite low? I'll be looking to keep it 3-4 years before selling it on.

Can't comment on the diesel variants as I've got an M240 but assuming it's similar on M Sport suspension then adaptive suspension is worth hunting out as it makes normal day to day driving more relaxing whilst giving you stiffer sportier handing when you're in the mood. Pro Nav is also nice to have but not essential especially on later cars as the business nav is actually fairly similar.

Agree Pro Nav is nice to have and the Auto 'box suits these well also. Don't dismiss cars with Leather as that will make it easier to sell on in 3-4 years.

2-Series pricing can be a bit random. The Cabriolets got very cheap recently as a load of 220d M Sports got dumped on the market. Coupes in the right spec can end up costing as much as the equivalent 4-series, in which case you're better of going for the latter.
