Thr easiest way is to jump on Facebook and join the 3fivers group (group just for 135/335 etc).
Loads of people on there run Chinese parts on their cars without issue and will be able to help.

ok, that surprises me as I've read that some of the Chinese stuff doesn't even fit, even a guy on ebay admitted that his 100 quid '335i/135i intercooler' he was selling doesn't fit after a customer reported to him it doesn't fit and the ad is still up but I suppose is finding the stuff that does work. unfortunately im not on facebook, would I have to make an account up to go on those pages?

I'm not sure what you're wanting to achieve with your car but a good N54 ( A new car or one which has had a walnut shell clean ) will make 315-320bhp stock and should make 370-375bhp after a stage 1 map.

Upgrading the FMIC should a further 15bhp and 3" downpipes give a further 20. I've read conflicting reports about the benefits of upgrading the inlet breathing and exhaust. Some believe the stock are not restrictive and some claim a further 15Hp or so can be gained.

A fit N54, with full bolt on mods, will make approx. 420bhp. https://blog.modbargains.com/5-ways-to-full-bolt-o...

If you're looking for more then your likely to need to upgrade fuel delivery ( pumps and injectors ).

Evolve automotive have a lot of experience with the N54 engine; I have a lot of experience with the car that produced the map in the following link winkhttps://www.evolveautomotive.com/evolve-ecu-remap-...

yeah interesting, I was hoping for more bottom end pick up really, so my logic in making it breath better would give better throttle response and sharper pick up hopefully? I have a JB4 thingy I inherited with the car, makes a lot of difference when it kicks in, but all hell breaks loose at 3000 revs plus, by then I'm close to loosing my licence so quickly brake again, so sort of renders it pointless, I realise most BMW engines are better at high revs but a little more at lower revs would be great.

I didn't realise you had a JB4 with the car already; the guys at Evolve are now selling these as well as doing their own bespoke maps. I think a call to them to discuss what you're looking for will be really helpful.

I would also recommend you talk to Simon at e-maps. http://www.e-maps.co.uk/ His maps have an excellent reputation too ( he has a 335i himself ). Simon will also come to your house or place of work to install the map. I'm not sure whether or not he has experience with JB4s though.

I have an E92 335D which is impressive and very quick, but I miss the noise and manual gearbox of my old 335i. I'm going to change back to petrol in the new year.....might get an M140i / M240i this time. 440+bhp with just a stage 1 map on the B58 engine...….300+ bhp per ton. eek

yeah I looked at evolve but they are the other side of the country really, Eventually i'll try to find a rolling road tuners closer to me, but the good thing about the jb4 is if you put it on map 5, it adjusts to any mod you have, if the figures people quoted are correct then mine will be pushing out the higher end of the figures for just a remap as I have cone filters and run on 99ron all the time. but jb4 is still a generic tune and from what tuners and mechanics tell me you cant beat a rolling road remap as they are tailored to each individual car (correct me if Im wrong),but the jb4 will give me an idea of what to expect I suppose.
